Prior to begin the hands-on session download data sets where you can access them with STATA; find data sets by clicking on session data link:

When your computer is ready log on to the remote session by clicking on the following link.  For Room ID enter unc.  For Name please enter a recognizable version of your name (preferably First_Last).

REMOTE LOCATION REMINDERS 

#1: RUN THE WIZARD

You should click the link below to make sure the computer you will be using has all of the appropriate installations to run the remote location software. If you use a different computer for each session, you will need to come in a few minutes early to run this each time. If you use the same computer, you only need to run it once.

#2: CHECK SOUND COMPONENTS

If you are using a home computer, make sure your volume works or you have speakers. If you are using a campus computer, please find a pair of headsets to use. If you cannot hear Francois, you will not be able to understand what is happening during the Remote Session.

#3: MAKE SURE YOU HAVE ACCESS TO STATA

If using a campus computer: Make sure the computer has STATA installed (Manning Lab) or has a link to Citrix (and you have registered for Citrix).

If using a home computer: Make sure you have registered for Citrix, have the Citrix plug-in installed, and can access STATA through Citrix.

Installing Citrix on your Home Computer:

A) Go to: http://oasis.unc.edu/

B) For more info about Citrix go to:

“Documentation” à “For All Users” à “Using Citrix to Run Applications” (Choose “Windows” or “Mac OS X” based on what type of system you have)

C) This page provides all the information you need about Citrix, usernames & passwords, how to install the plug-in, etc.

D) Once you have installed the plug-in, you will be able to access STATA by entering your username and password off of the following website:
